Amanda Russell is widely respected as an entrepreneur, professor, author, marketing consultant and women's sports advocate.
Amanda's career journey began as a Canadian elite runner. Plagued by injury, Amanda took her fitness expertise and became an entrepreneur building two fitness marketing businesses in the young social media space by the age of 32. Her exit sale of these companies led her to the role of Chief Marketing Officer at a major NYC agency where her branding and marketing skills expanded into luxury and consumer brands.
Amanda's early expertise in the social media space attracted top universities eager to expand their marketing departments to teach niche marketing, influence marketing beyond the traditional social media platform and explore the evolving relationship between brands and customers. Amanda developed the world's first fully accredited program in Influencer Marketing at UCLA, which she then launched at The University of Texas at Austin. She was inducted into the global executive MBA faculty at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. She has taken her course and written a book, The Influencer Code, and served as a guest lecturer internationally at more than two dozen undergraduate and graduate programs worldwide including London Business School, Harvard, Wharton School of Business, The University of Stockholm Business School, Bocconi University (Milan), HEC (Paris), and New York University.
Most recently, Amanda has embarked on creating a feature documentary that sheds light on a little-known epidemic in women's sports – female triad or RED-S. Drawing on her influence marketing experience, entrepreneurial talent, and worldwide brand reach, Amanda aims to change the face of women's sports through this powerful storytelling medium. This passion project has already garnered significant attention among media, sponsors and sports influencers, and blends personal and professional experience for another compelling chapter in Amanda's journey.
Additionally, Amanda serves as a Board member for The Andy Roddick Foundation and advisory board member for The University of Richmond Business School. She also serves as a senior adviser for several internationally recognized companies, including Lamborghini, Cedar Sinai and Lionsgate.
