Anna Baeth

Research Assistant, Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport

Anna Baeth is a PhD candidate at the University of Minnesota, studying Sport Sociology. Baeth is a research assistant in the Tucker Center and is an assistant lacrosse coach at Hamline University. In 2018, she received a graduate student research grant through the NCAA for her dissertation: Analyzing the Pathways of Women Head Coaches with Career Longevity in NCAA D-I Sport. Baeth examines women with career longevity in coaching in an effort to help administrators and coaches retain women in the profession at all levels.  Prior to her time in Minnesota, Baeth was the Head Field Hockey Coach at Oberlin College and Conservatory (OH). Baeth earned her M.S. in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College (MA) while acting as an assistant field hockey coach with the Mount Holyoke College. In 2009, she rode her bicycle cross country with the non-profit Bike and Build to raise awareness of affordable housing issues. Baeth graduated from Swarthmore College (PA) with a degree in Sociology / Anthropology and Education Studies where she also founded the not-for-profit organization, Chester Neighborhood Bike Works.
