Ronda Engelhardt

Head Varsity Hockey Coach, Breck School

Ronda Engelhardt, formerly Curtin, is the current varsity hockey head coach at Breck School in MN. She wrapped up her fifth season with the Breck Mustangs by winning 2018 MN State High School League Championship for class 1A. With this championship, Ronda made history by becoming the first female hockey coach to win the State tournament as a player and coach.

A 2003 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Ronda was a four-year hockey letter winner.  After contributing to the program's first national title in 2000, she became the program's first two-time All-American by earning First Team honors in both 2002 and 2003. Those same seasons she was First Team All-WCHA, as well as WCHA Defensive Player of the Year. She also was WCHA Player of the Year in 2002, anchoring the defensive core of a Gopher team that swept the WCHA regular season and tournament title that season and earned the 2002 WCHA Tournament MVP award. Additionally, Ronda was a top-three Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist during the 2001-02. She is a 2015 inductee into the University of Minnesota M Club Athletic Hall of Fame.

In addition to coaching, Ronda is a Licensed School Counselor at Hopkins High School. Ronda earned a master’s degree in School Counseling after graduating with a BA in Psychology and minor in Leadership from the University of Minnesota.
